Real Eyes, Press Release: 2008

REAL EYES is a new Fidget Feet circus spectacle suspended from two cranes. This will be the largest outdoor work to be created in Ireland by an Irish Company.

REAL EYES will showcase at Bluestack Festival, Ballyshannon, Donegal, Ireland on 4th October 2008. The show hopes to premiere at St. Patrick’s Festival, March 2009/10.

Fidget Feet devises their work with all the artists involved and will collaborate with an Irish traditional storyteller, three traditional Irish dancers and the internationally renowned band Kila, mixing traditional music with modern beats while flying alongside Irish singing rap artists and Fidget Feet aerialists. Fidget Feet will also collaborate with Joe Hull from High Performance Rigging and Steve Taylor from Four Fish Design to create original aerial structures.

The piece will also be supported by The Irish Arts Council and commissioned by Donegal County Council and other Irish festivals. REAL EYES will take Riverdance one-step higher!!! Chantal will co-direct the show with a international Director while Jym will create all the music in collaboration with Kila.

In 2003 and 2004 Fidget feet collaborated with Pat Speight (a storyteller from Cork City), a local Irish traditional dancer and 3 aerial dancers towards research for Real Eyes supported by Mary Brady and The Institute of Choreography and Dance in Cork City.
