Real Eyes
Real Eyes is a new Fidget Feet circus spectacle suspended from two cranes. This will be the largest outdoor work to be created in Ireland by an Irish Company. Fidget Feet is currently seeking funding.
In loving memory of our dearest friend and colleague Emma Insley we hope to complete this show in the future and find a European partner to co-produce this large new work of circus.
Fidget Feet devises their work ad hoc with all the artists involved; an Irish traditional storyteller, three traditional Irish dancers and three Irish musicians, mixing traditional music with modern beats while flying alongside Irish rap artists and Fidget Feet aerialists.
History
In 2008 Real Eyes was commissioned by Donegal County Council and St. Patrick’s Festival, and received funding from The Irish Arts Council.
Fidget Feet worked with Joe Hull from High Performance Rigging and Steve Taylor from Four Fish Design to create original aerial structures. Emma Insley was Gaia and worked as an aerial choreographer.
Real Eyes is a step beyond Riverdance!!! Chantal will co-direct the show with Pat Kiernan from Corcadorca, a Cork based company. Jym will create all the music in collaboration with the musicians and Martin Tourish; winner of TG4 Young Musician of the Year Award.
In 2003 and 2004 Fidget Feet collaborated with Pat Speight (a storyteller from Cork City), a local Irish traditional dancer and three aerial dancers. They were supported by Mary Brady and The Institute of Choreography and Dance in Cork City. Fidget Feet also received support from Cork County Council towards working with The Bantry Youth Reach club to make a documentary. Go to education to see an excerpt…
