The Snow Queen
An Grianán Theatre’s 10th anniversary is celebrated by producing a new adaptation of The Snow Queen, reinterpreting the traditional tale by Hans Christian Anderson. This new work brings together local and international talents using aerial work, dance, music, theatre and special effects. Original music by Jym Daly from Loop Guru. Costumes and set design by Paul Shriek who has worked in fashion and theatre for almost 30 years. Gavin Marshal (RSC) is the director, and will co-write this spectacular show alongside Fidget Feet.
The Snow Queen is co-produced by An Grianán Theatre and Fidget Feet are funded by the Irish Arts Council.
Synopsis
The Snow Queen – in her search for eternal beauty – captures a circus sideshow and creates a magical mirror, her best illusion yet. The circus freaks smash the mirror into a thousand pieces!!!!
A young boy is kidnapped and his best friend, Gerda, chases to save him before his heart is frozen forever; maybe yours with it! Who shall win out in this incredible journey of imagination? Let’s hope it’s us!
